This idea that I call "me" started in 1974, when I was born in a seaside town in South Korea, a daughter of a gentle, soft-spoken mother and a pragmatic, military father.Until 18, I was primarily raised within the boundaries of the 8th U.S. Army Post, an American military base in Yongsan located in the heart of Seoul, South Korea. I received a rich Department of Defense education from kindergarten to 12th grade, and enjoyed friendships with kids from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
