A Nasty Update...

Tommy Hanson, in his second start, took the loss as he gave up one run in 5 2/3 innings with 7 K's and 2 BB's.

That gives him a season total of 10 IP 0.90 ERA 17 K 4 BB

Rough outing.... hopefully he can bounce back in the next one.

Braves one step closer to another division title...

The Braves took a big step towards another Division Championship today as the Mets signed pitcher Elmer Dessens to a contract.

More moves like this, and a World Series berth will be within reach....

YYEEAAAAAHHHH!H!HH!!!!!1!!!!

He wants to stay! He wants to stay! After all the crap that's gone on, He wants to stay!
Frank. For the love of the gods... open the vault and let him browse. Give him the keys. Sign over the deed. You've got until the beginning of the season or you lose him.
Offer to name your next child after him. (It worked for Brett Favre) If need be, I'll name my next child after him. Boy or girl. Tell him he can replace Bobby when the time comes. Whatever he wants. GIVE IT TO HIM!!!!!
After all of the crap over the last couple of seasons... he still wants to finish his career wearing the Tomahawk.

He is the face of the Franchise.

Treat him accordingly.

We need this one Frank.

Finally! The Rock, has come back, to Atlanta!

No? Well how about Derek Lowe, then? You may have been expecting a rant about the whole Smoltz fiasco. Won't do it. No point.
Instead, let's focus on the positives... of which, there have been quite a few.

First, the signing of pitcher Derek Lowe. Sweet! We have a guy to run out there on opening day. Jair Jurgens may have the most talent, but he's a kid. Let's not put the franchise on his shoulders quite yet. In Derek, we have a legitimate #1. Jair at #2, Vasquez the Innings Eater at #3, Hiro Nakamura at #4 and Charlie Morton or Jo Jo Reyes at #5. Tom Glavine yet to be determined and Tim Hudson getting healthy for 2010.
I'm much happier with the addition of Lowe, rather than AJ Burnett. And I still feel the price on Peavy was waaaay too high.

Next, Omar Infante signed a two year deal to stay with the Braves. Nice. A great guy to have. Played five positions last year, and was the #3 pinch hitter in the NL...

Hiro Nakamura, starting pitcher.... or something like that.... we signed him outta Japan. I don't know much about him, but everyone is raving about him. Bring it baby.

Greg Norton. The best pinch hitter in all of baseball last year. We got him from Seattle for a bag of balls. Also can give us a power bat at 1st... great signing.

I'm very happy at all of these signings. Well done boys. I'm looking forward to Spring Training now...

Oh yeah, I know most of you are used to me posting pics of everyone.... but I don't have any cards of any of these guys.... UNbelievable. But it gives me a goal for 2009....
