Remember When...

This is without a doubt the greatest basketball team ever assembled. If any team could beat them 1/10 times they played I would be amazed. Think about this line-up:

PG: Earvin "Magic" Johnson and John Stockton (both great pass first point guards, perfect for this team)

SG:
Michael Jordan and Clyde Drexler (both great scoring and passing shooting guards who know how to win)

SF:
Larry Bird and Chris Mullin and Scottie Pippen (no matter who you are playing they fit perfectly within the team scheme and each give you something unique)

PF:
Karl Malone and Charles Barkley (strong, hustling big men who can rebound and score)

C:
Patrick Ewing and David Robinson (again strong, hustling big men who can rebound and score)

Coach: Chuck Daly (with a team that good on offense coaching itself, a defensive coach is perfect)

Water Boy: Christian Laettner

More than just talent alone though (which all the US olympic teams always have), most all of these players were in their primes or nearing them when the '92 games occurred. With the exceptions of Magic, Bird, and Mullins all of the players were playing off the charts well in the NBA when the team was formed and even a 60 year old Magic still had second to none court vision to hit the 60 year old Bird and Mullins who never forgot how to stand and shoot. Does any team even come close to this?
